Why is prophecy so confusing? Prophetic events are presented across and through various Bible texts and books. Authors use different words, labels, or terms, often for the same time periods, people, or events. Prophets tell of future events while living in different times or eras. Up to three thousand years ago or longer. Limited understandings have shaded any particular prophet’s knowledgeable familiarity with future events or people within their own life and time.
Let me give you an example: Three different Bible books, Isaiah (34:4), Matthew (24:29), and Mark (13:25), talk about falling stars. You and I know that multiple stars falling from the sky, explicitly falling to Earth simultaneously or in quick order, can happen, but it is not likely. However, as there are thousands of satellites currently in orbit around our planet, if multiples of these objects were to descend to Earth together, their pieces might appear as falling stars.
You see, visions or prophetic instructions given thousands of years ago must be understood in the context of the time they were received and in the time of their appearance, unfolding in real time within a future era.
Let me offer two other important identity prophecies for you to consider. I’ve attached two links for verification (if you haven’t already seen these recent media clips).
In 2024, the world witnessed the physical, real-time validation of the two most important “Last Days” individuals described in bible prophecy.
the ‘antichrist’ (Rev 13:3,12)
the ‘false prophet’ (Rev 13:13)
God has drawn a line in the sand for those who will believe and for those who refuse.
So, what is the purpose of prophecy? The whole point of prophecy is to warn, share, and motivate us to consider a relationship with God through Jesus Christ before end-times and last-day world-changing events occur.
Many fail to believe or understand that every event in life has a similar purpose. Each offers an opportunity to bring us closer and spiritually back to God. But what does this mean? Back to God? In our spiritual essence, in our moment of origination, we are all spirits. Just as the culmination of life is death, the process of allowing our spirit to be freed from our physical presence in this material world is to be redeemed to God as the creator of life through spiritual reconciliation.
