POWER OF TRUTH
PART 1: "Discerning Information"
Throughout history, humans have continually experienced, benefited from, and endured the complexities of transitioning from one era to the next. This journey began with pre-civilized survivalists and evolved through the rise and fall of empires, shaped by various religious, cultural, political, and economic influences. We moved through the Dark Ages and the Renaissance, followed by the Age of Reason and the Enlightenment, and the era of Manifest Destiny. Next came the Industrial Revolution, leading us into our current postmodern era, known as the Information Age.
All of them prepared the way for the dawn of our technology. Each participated in the ongoing race toward the 21st century, marked by redefined clashes between societies, groups, and tribes.
Life has come full circle, presenting a multitude of beliefs and behaviors for the mind to explore and examine. As we prepare for the upcoming Age of Artificial Intelligence, we brace ourselves for an even greater influx of propagandized distrust stemming from information, misinformation, and disinformation.
Do you dread Sunday nights, knowing that in just a few short hours, you’ll be faced with a barrage of data along with questions, doubts, and concerns about what is true or false?
Whether from old or new business associates, family, friends, or colleagues, do you wonder how this flood of information might impact you and your future?
Do you wake up on Monday morning wishing you could pull the covers back over your head and avoid facing a world full of uncertainties? Is your day filled with stress and demands that never seem to subside? Are you struggling with what to believe or trust as true, and how those beliefs might affect your income, relationships, or life in general?
We live in a 24/7 connected world where our time is often spoken for even before we get out of bed in the morning. Despite all our conveniences and technology, the demands on our time and energy are already overwhelming. For many, the day feels like being trapped in a cage, running on a treadmill, or navigating a maze of requests while trying to stay afloat, pay bills, and find time for family.
Life in the modern world is undeniably hectic. You might hear a favorite song from a time when you felt more in control of your life and energy. Suddenly, you realize that this tune you've been humming is from 15, 20, or even 30 years ago. Before we can discern the truth, we first need to define what truth is, because in many relationships or situations, there exists my truth, your truth, and the truth.
My perception of truth, your perception of truth, and actual truth can be considered distinctly different. Within this complex understanding of truth, we each inhabit two realms of existence: the physical and the spiritual. In both realms, truth serves as both a keel and a rudder for the small craft of our lives. Much like the keel of a vessel, which often goes unnoticed, truth provides structure and balance. Additionally, similar to a rudder that steers a ship, truth offers direction for our journeys.
