LIFE'S MISSING LINK
Part 2
Have you ever made a decision that left you feeling embarrassed, ashamed, guilty, remorseful, or filled with regret? This reaction comes from your "inactive spirit" becoming active. It interacts with your conscious mind through emotions like guilt, shame, and embarrassment.
These emotional responses indicate that your inactive spirit recognizes how God would have you respond differently than you actually did. You may have seen this represented comically as a little angel on one shoulder and a little devil on the other, both vying for your attention as you try to decide how to handle a situation. The angel represents your inactive spirit, reminding you of what is "right and wrong." In contrast, the little devil represents your carnal desires, tempting you with the pleasures and rewards of the world's ways.
We are all prodigal children, akin to “Little Pinocchios” who desire to make our mark as we venture into the world, drawn by the glitz and glamour it offers. Often, we find ourselves torn between our 20% spiritual awareness and our 80% self-focused, purpose-driven, carnal desires.
So, what’s missing? The missing element is the activation of our inactive spirit. This represents the “Missing Link.” It is the role of our inactive spirit to remind us, through our emotions, of the negative consequences that lie hidden behind the veil of possibilities in every right or wrong choice and decision we make.
The Missing Link involves activating 80% of our spiritual potential that sparks our current 20% inactive spirit to life. With this new 80% spiritual activation working in harmony with our original 20% inactive spirit, we can begin to replace our old, pattern-driven worldly desires with healthier choices that align with our true selves.
When we implement the “Five Steps of Spiritual Grounding Reactivation,” God's Holy Spirit ignites our 20% partly active spirit, elevating it to its full 100% activation potential. With a fully activated spirit, we start to recognize truth in every aspect of our lives, particularly within ourselves and in our relationships.
By recognizing and acknowledging the truth in our world, we automatically become aware of lies, fabrications, deceit, and deceptions both around us and within our sphere of influence, including our family, friends, and coworkers. With a fully activated spirit, when we face questions, situations, or circumstances, it is the power of God’s spiritual strength within us that reveals the moral or ethical path for every choice we make.
We begin to clearly see the moral or ethical consequences of our decisions, not merely focusing on the “reward or punishment” of right versus wrong. The question shifts from “What’s in it for me?” to “How will this choice affect those I care about—my family, neighbors, co-workers, community, and the world?”
Please note that I didn’t say 'the world'; I said, 'my world.' How do my decisions or choices affect those in my world, those I care about, and those I am responsible for?
This reawakening of my moral compass, along with my ethical responses, represents the Missing Link. With a fully activated spirit, I can now recognize my potential for moral and ethical responses.
By acknowledging the truth in our lives, we can also identify the ramifications or outcomes of every choice we make, including both the benefits and the adversities that arise in different situations we encounter. This understanding applies not only to us as individuals, but also, just as importantly, to those we care about. Our responses now stem from a place of moral and ethical understanding. But how can we determine what the moral or ethical responses are?
God’s character and nature embody Truth and Love. His character and nature in action manifest as morals and ethics. With a completely reactivated spirit, we have the ability to engage in moral and ethical responses toward the people, circumstances, and situations in our lives.
We can start to live, share, and express our new relationship with God through our moral and ethical responses to the opportunities, questions, or situations we encounter in our daily lives. It’s no longer just about me; it’s about the moral and ethical me. But how will we know what those moral and ethical responses should be or look like?
When our spirit has been reactivated by the Holy Spirit of truth, embodied in and through Christ, we immediately become aware of the moral and ethical response required in every situation. It’s not simply about choosing the right or wrong path and facing its rewards or punishments. We begin to understand the larger and long-term ramifications of each choice.
People often ask me, “How do I know what a moral and/or ethical response is?” We become aware of every moral and ethical response through our reactivated spirit, which is now fully operational and available to guide our options, choices, and decisions.
First, we can reflect on our previous patterns of behavior that led to negative consequences for both us and those we claim to care about. Second, we can rely on our fully reactivated spirit as our new benchmark for behavior.
When we shift away from our ‘old pattern’ life, where our decisions were often based on “What’s in it for me?” and were driven by seeking rewards or avoiding punishment, we will no longer experience the unpleasant emotions that were once prevalent.
The only question now is: Will you respond morally and ethically, or not?
